Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My goal is for my students to find joy in learning, not see it as a chore. I aim to create engaging and meaningful experiences that spark their curiosity and make learning fun. Many of my students come from low-income households and lack access to educational tools at home, which is why I believe it’s my responsibility to provide them with the resources and environment they need to thrive.
This project will provide magnetic tiles to help students explore geometry, symmetry, and spatial reasoning in a fun and interactive way.
Fraction tiles, bars, and circles will allow them to build a strong conceptual understanding of parts of a whole and compare fractional values with ease. A large place value chart display will serve as a daily visual reference to strengthen their number sense and understanding of the base-ten system.
Together, these resources will create a more inclusive and engaging math environment where every student has the tools they need to succeed and feel confident in their learning. With your support, math won’t just be something they do, it will be something they see, touch, and understand.
