This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have a class of ten students who are in my self-contained special education classroom. They range in grade levels from third grade to sixth grade. Daily we work on reading, writing, and math skills. My students struggle with these skills and are functioning below grade level. They need every opportunity to practice and learn the skills for reading, writing, and math.
Donating to my project, these materials are giving me a the opportunity to look at specific skills and see the different ways to present the materials to my students through hands on learning.
My goal is to keep my students interested in learning and to keep them engaged in learning. I want them to want to be excited about reading, writing, and math.
It is with these materials that I have selected that I will work with my students either one-on-one or in a small group. Having the learning games will challenge the students to think at a higher level as they participate with their peers. Using the multiplication pop-its will help teach the students their multiplication facts as they complete math projects. Fraction materials will help to teach fractions to all of the students. My students will love all the materials we receive. Most of all, they will love the different games.
