I would like for my classroom to reflect my personality. I want the students to feel like they belong in there, and I want them to feel at ease in my classroom. I like to decorate my classroom for the different seasons, and my students love to help with this. I want my students to want to come to school and enjoy learning.
I teach in a small middle school located in a very rural area.
Most kids in our school fall below the national poverty line. I teach self-contained special education with a small class size of 8 students. All of my students are learning at a different level from the others in the classroom. I have students in wheelchairs and students with behavior issues. My students are very active in the school. They like to help out the faculty, and they love to keep the school clean. They are a fun bunch and deserve materials to further their education.
My Project
My students love using hands on manipulatives to complete projects and assignments in the classroom. My students are more enthusiastic and excited to learn when they have materials that they can physically hold and manipulate.
The autistic students in my class enjoy putting puzzles together.
The large floor puzzles work best for them. These new puzzles will keep their interests and keep them busy for long periods of time.
Fresh new Science workbooks will help with the educational learning and enhancement of the the students. My students function at different grade levels so varying subject and grade level workbooks help to get various subjects covered in class.
