This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love doing anything hands-on. I try to create as many opportunities as I can for them. Each morning we start our day with morning STEM bins. Our centers include Magna-Tiles, Bristles Blocks, Brain Flakes and more.
Hopefully, it will soon include pixel art challenges and pattern block fun as well.
These STEM bins ignite their imaginations. That is what we want students to do. Create, build, learn, test and retest.
Each morning my students come in and grab their STEM bin that they will use for the first 15 minutes of the school day. This is a favorite time for my class. They have a chance to talk with me in private, chit chat with their classmates, discover and build. It is so wonderful to witness! This is a time for everyone in my class to feel included and seen.
