How can you become a better reader without the tools in your tool chest?
My kids are fun and energetic.
They are excited to learn how to read. My students attend a magnet school on the west side of Saint Paul. Many of them are proficient in Spanish and are learning how to become readers in English. They are enjoying every moment at school, but they are faced with the challenge of schools closing and new classrooms opening. This is great because I get them in my school. BUT because of the budget the new classrooms that have opened do not have a lot of supplies in them.
My Project
You can put hands on materials in the hands of many young learners. These centers make learning to read and the structure of the English language much more fun and engaging!! With center based learning they will be able to work on social skills at the same time and share their knowledge with their peers. How can it get any better than that? These materials will be used with the Reader's Workshop model during the independent work time to help secure reading skills.
This project will benefit children in grades Kindergarten, First and Second grade.
This project will impact many children! If a student can have a better understanding of reading and begin the life long journey as a reader I have made my impact. Please help make this impact with me.
