This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My community needs access to hands on materials since materials are presented in concrete format. Teaching is magical, but we need access to hands on materials to support my lessons. My lessons need to be entertaining, motivating, and concrete. These materials will enhance my lessons to be meaningful.

Sensory items are vital in supporting students at school as they help create an environment conducive to learning by addressing individual sensory needs.

Tools such as fidgets and playdough provide deep pressure input and calming sensations, which can help students with sensory processing challenges feel more grounded and secure. Sensory items enable students to foster a more focused learning atmosphere. Additionally, sensory items offer a soothing motion that can help regulate sensory systems, allowing students to self-soothe and refocus. By incorporating these sensory supports, schools can empower students to maintain emotional regulation and concentration, ultimately enhancing their overall educational experience.
