My Students

I love that my students are so diverse! There is something unique about each and every one of them. We have several students who speak multiple languages, were born in faraway countries, and practice different religions. The different background each student brings to the classroom makes the classroom culture that much more intriguing. When the students respond to writing prompts or participate in class discussions, I am reminded of how each individual student brings such an interesting perspective, largely in part to their diverse backgrounds.

My Project

My students love to learn in a variety of ways, but nothing gets their attention more than having the opportunity to practice their skills through playing a fun game! I would love to be able to offer them a larger selection of durable, colorful, engaging literacy games at the ready! There are so many ways I see myself using the items in this cart—in their small groups during class, in my tutoring sessions, and for students to choose from who finish their work early! It will be a fun way to reinforce what we are learning in class, encourage students to understand the material they are struggling with, and challenge students who are meeting the grade-level objectives already!
