Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 3rd grade students are amazing, strong, and bright. They continue to amaze me as they continue to learn through the challenges they are faced with daily and persevere at 7 & 8 years old. Our school is a Title I school, meaning the students come from low-income housing and are provided breakfast, lunch, and snack daily along with school supplies.

Our students love to learn and use manipulatives to build a more concrete picture in their brains.

Learning to master the concept of telling time is a very challenging skill and a lot of repetition and practice needed. The mini individual clocks will be so helpful to review with each student. Fractions is another important skill that students will continue to use even as an adult. The fraction towers and tiles will help students to visualize and compare the different fractions and understand how to build a whole. TPT gift cards are also helpful for the classroom as the resources on the website are all created by teachers and can be used as whole group, small group and even 1-1 learning depending what each child needs to succeed.

Reading is the biggest skill every child needs to master and feel confident in. Many students are challenged to read with the complex english language and need tools and strategies to help break down and decode unknown words. The ELA tools will help to guide and build on students skills as they continue to grow and strengthen their reading. Thank you so much for your support in our classroom!
