This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Play is a very important part of being a kid! In order for kids to be ready for school, they need practice developing their fine motor skills for writing by using different types of materials.

To develop fine motor skills, kids need play that involves manipulating small objects, like blocks, Legos, and puzzles.

My first graders will especially benefit greatly from hands on materials, such as Playdoh and Unifix cubes.

These examples of materials will help my students strengthen their fine motor skills, which is necessary for holding writing tools, such as pencils and crayons.
