Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting a variety of materials to support our students in the after-school program! In this setting, students are often given the opportunity to self-select their activity and the peers that they work with. During this time, students are eager for hands-on experiences.

I am working to provide more STEAM activities to supplement their learning during this time.

I am requesting watercolors for students to have their own paint when they choose a creative activity. I requested a large "fort-building" set for children to develop spatial-reasoning skills and to support their ability to work together in a group in order to reach a shared-goal. The magnetic building blocks will provide students with the opportunity to construct a marble track together. Last, I am requesting an electric tea kettle to provide hot water for our nutrition lessons. This will allow us to complete more lessons in our classroom!

With all of these materials, I will be able to implement a well-rounded learning experience for our students who stay for the after-school program!
