Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Math, science, technology, and phonics centers support student development by engaging them in conversations, asking them to describe what they are doing, and helping them make new friends. Students are also doing things together, such as playing, building, engineering, and working with play dough.

I would like to give my 1st grade students the opportunity to grow and develop through play, the way children learn best.

My students will expand their love of learning, build knowledge, develop their ability to get along with others during center time. With the items in my cart, I can create new centers. The privacy boards will be used during end of lesson assessments. Students will become engineers and build with the magna tiles. Students will learn number place values, greater than and less than, addition and subtraction using UNO cards. These centers allow them to have hands-on experiences, learning will be meaningful and engaging for all students. Students are always curious learners and having these manipulatives will help them retain what they are learning through exploring, developing and designing through hands-on activities.
