This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach a diverse group of students with many different academic levels, backgrounds, and experiences. Each student learns in different ways and at different times. They love to help each other. All of them want to learn but for some, it is more of a struggle than for others. Even though learning can be difficult for some, they come in with a can-do attitude and give it their best. I am always looking for ways to make changes to help each one of them.
At this current time, my students' classroom learning has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
I continue to teach them from home as we connect on the computer using Zoom. I don't have a lot of resources so I mainly use the computer for at home teaching. All of my teaching materials are at school and I don't have access to them. Having materials at home to be able to teach my students will be greatly appreciated.
My Project
At-home learning continues with me as the teacher. I will use these supplies to organize my materials for teaching from home. I will work with students via Zoom meetings to help them use these materials for reading. We will work with vowels and consonants, decode words and spell them. We will decode three-letter words and sound them out to spell them. We will match letters with sounds and sounds with letters. Students will be able to use the alphabet letters for letter recognition. It's a super fun way to learn.
