My Students

Worrying about food, money, transportation, and clothing are adult worries, yet many of the students at my school face these "grown-up" problems each day. In spite of the challenges they face, they constantly rise to the occasion and frequently blow me away with their ability to learn.

My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Our school has a very high ESOL population and free/reduced lunch. Some have, and some do not. It is my job to level their playing field so that all have a chance to be successful.

Through a hands-on, exciting, and active learning environment, my kindergarten students strive to do their best every day. My students are active, excited, super sweet kindergarteners who love to learn!

My Project

Having many different types of manipulatives in the classroom is key to my students learning. Manipulatives provide effective and engaging lessons that support math and reading. Problem solving skills can also be developed through the use of these manipulatives!

My students will be able to use these manipulatives to practice math, reading, fine motor skills, eye hand coordination, as well as color recognition!

All of my students have individual goals that we work towards and having the manipulatives available at all times will provide them the opportunity to strengthen their skills. They can use these independently during our differentiated instruction time where they can practice skills that have been taught.

These manipulatives will focus on math, reading, sorting, building, and sharpening fine motor skills as well as hand to eye coordination. Manipulatives have an endless amount of use when working with young students!
