Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have an awesome group of students who are eager and excited to learn. This is my first year in general education after teaching special education for 21 years. I am eager to provide my students with a fully furnished classroom setting. My students come in each morning eager to settle in. Half of my class is bused to school because their neighborhood school is full. Those students come in excited and eager to help one another and they are always offering to help me.

My Project

My students enjoy learning stations to master math concepts, including math journals. They also love doing word sorts when they are mastering spelling and reading concepts. The students enjoy having new ways to show their understanding of math and reading concepts. Each time I introduce new materials, such as the requested Visualize Math Write & Wipe Boards and Phonics Dominoes, my students eagerly show their maturity by taking care of manipulatives and cleaning up when they are done. I enjoy watching their faces and eyes light up as they master math, reading and writing concepts. I love that my students tell me how much fun it is to learn. Thank you for the support.
