Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a classroom full of respectful and diligent learners. My students continually amaze me with their curiosity about the world around them as well as their generosity towards one another. My classroom culture is to build upon each others strengths and assist in developing areas of need. We work in teams and groups often just like my students will continue to do in life and at work. This allows my students to understand that team effort strengthens the whole and that each person has something to contribute.

Most of my students come from families who are low-socioeconomic status and don't speak English.

Despite any disadvantages at home, my students want to continue to develop academically and be active in their learning process. My goal is to keep my students actively learning and developing to the best of my abilities.

My Project

Every student is unique just like the way I like to make my lessons, unique and memorable. By making a variety of hands on learning games, I am able to captivate my students' attention and keep them on their toes with excitement. Ink and thermal laminating pouches allow me to create these unique games that make them endurable for continued use. Additionally, dice and a variety of other hands-on math manipulatives encourage individualized math practice and applying learned skills to reality.

Utilizing hands-on activities keeps students engaged and easily transitions to real-life situations.

These opportunities I am creating in the classroom are to build better citizens inside as well as outside the classroom. I am building life-long learners that will be able to apply learned skills to their everyday life outside of the classroom.
