My Students
I have a fast growing caseload of around 90 students! In speech therapy we work on articulation, language, fluency, voice, social skills, feeding, and many more skills necessary to be successful in school.
My students are creative, thoughtful and want to learn.
They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to better their communication skills. They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
My Project
Hands-on learning is the process of learning by doing.
Hands-on learning is a great way to teach new skills that build on what children already know.
It can be difficult to keep activities interactive and fun while still teaching important concepts that build a strong foundation for future learning.
We are requesting games and puzzles that will help students stay engaged in the activity while working on speech and language skills.
Children are more likely to develop skills when they are having fun, but also when the skills have meaning for them; hands-on learning aims to provide for both of these characteristics of learning. By incorporating these materials listed, it will give students extra opportunities to practice skills they are struggling with. Weighted pencils will help students improve handwriting as well as work on written language forms.
