I'm transitioning a little deeper into my early childhood specialty & going back to Kindergarten instead of 1st grade next year! Previously, I taught in a Preschool for All program, so almost everything I needed for my students was purchased with state-funded grant money. Obviously, I couldn't bring all of it to my new classroom.
I want to give these kiddos a hands-on learning environment.
I will be teaching in a small community. Sometimes there are only enough students for one section per grade. Over half of the students in the district come from low-income households.
Early childhood education is based on hand-on learning. I want to make it easy for my Kindergarteners to successfully meet high academic demands through hands-on play. I am a huge believer in small group centers.
We will be able to do SO MUCH with this Copernicus Early Learning Easel Station in the classroom.
I can use it for whole-group instruction, but even better, I can use it for TWO small group centers at a time. I can put magnetic letters for word building, markers for handwriting, pictures for sequencing, shapes for counting, adding, and geometry. The possibilities are literally endless!
