My Students

My learners are encouraged to believe in themselves and maximize their own individual talents. My number one goal is to show each child that he or she is special, unique and loved. When children feel cared for more learning occurs. Each one of my 19 1st graders has a different background and story but they all deserve the best education and opportunities that I can provide for them! Roundtown Elementary is one of three K-3 buildings in Central York School District. With a quarter of our students receiving free or reduced lunch. No matter what obstacles stand in our way we will approach them as a team!

My Project

Hands on materials will help my struggling learners to gain new concepts. Research has proven that the more ways a child experiences a concept, the better they will retain that information. I would love to provide my classroom with tactile, hands on letters and numbers. Students will be able to trace the letters and numbers in order to identify them and write them. The sight word boards will benefit my students by helping them to learn the top 100 words that are used in most books. This will help prepare them for reading. All of these resources will help my struggling learners!
