This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a Title I School, where all of my students qualify for free breakfast and free lunch. I teach nineteen Kindergartners. Despite the many challenges they face in their neighborhoods, I have the amazing opportunity to provide and create a safe, nurturing, and loving environment for them at school.
My students come to school eager and ready to learn.
My students are a diverse, fun-loving, and energetic bunch. Seeing my students enjoy learning brings me such joy and pleasure.
My Project
My students need math games and activities that focus on supporting and reinforcing math skills taught in the classroom. The Giant Beads and Patterns Activity will help my students learn how to make AB and AAB patterns. The How Long It Is Measurement Center will help my students learn how to measure the length of objects. Students will use these math tools during small group math time and math center time.
The math tools that I am requesting will provide my students with a hands-on approach to learning.
My students will have the opportunity to learn math in a variety of ways. It will promote a love for math and create an environment to be successful.
