This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergarteners are curious, creative, and full of energy! They learn best when they can touch, explore, and play. That’s why I’m requesting kinetic sand and a variety of molds and tools—to give my students the hands-on experiences they need to grow and thrive.

Kinetic sand is more than just fun.

It helps students develop fine motor skills, encourages imaginative play, and supports social-emotional growth. With sand tools and molds, students can practice letter formation, build shapes, and strengthen their hand muscles—all while playing collaboratively and having fun.

What We Need:

Multiple packs of kinetic sand in various colors

Alphabet and number sand molds

Sand rollers and tools for sculpting

Small trays to contain the sand during use

Why This Matters:

Many of my students come to school without access to materials like this at home. For children with sensory needs or limited fine motor strength, kinetic sand is a calming, engaging way to build skills. It also provides an alternative center for learning letters, numbers, and early writing in a playful way.

Having these materials available in our classroom would help make learning more interactive, inclusive, and joyful.
