My students are amazing! They love exploring their environment and learning new things. I teach at a Title I Star School where more than half of our students qualify for free or reduced-price meals, and twenty percent are English Language Learners. Our students come from diverse backgrounds including English Language Learners, military families and students currently experiencing homelessness. Our class has many diverse learners including students with special needs.
Our students are excited to learn and I want to give them the best possible school experience.
In addition to the school curriculum, my students are learning kindness, patience, and understanding towards all students with various abilities. I want my students to strive for the best and to keep their love of learning alive as they continue in their education. I hope my classroom is a safe place where we can learn and share together.
Our goal is to close the achievement gap and my students often need information presented to them in a different way. An iPad can assist them with visual supports, applications, multi-model learning, and positive practice of missing skill sets.
Financial literacy is a subject that will last a lifetime, especially when taught to young learners.
The iPad will also be used with our OSMO numbers game. Our class was lucky enough to get a few OSMO math games that teach number sense. The OSMO games require an iPad to play the interactive math games. Number sense is important for establishing a strong understanding of financial literacy in young learners.
