Help me give my students sensory breaks with these amazing and interactive sensory floor tiles after they finish their hands-on learning with the letter stamps and tiles.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are enthusiastic learners who have lots of challenges to overcome. My goal is to create a learning community that highlights their strengths and helps support them to compensate for their weaknesses. Developing self-efficacy is key to helping children with exceptionalities make progress and grow.
Our focus for back to school is defining- "What is success?" for each student.
Goal setting can build competency and lead to more confidence. Lacking confidence is one of the biggest challenges for many of my students. They are used to people helping them and finishing their work for them. I'm working to develop the confidence to try (even if it means failing.) Our classroom is a team and we will work this year to help one another succeed.
My Project
Many of my students struggle with learning in a traditional classroom. Reading doesn't come easy and writing can be a chore. These stamps, ink pads, and magnetic letter tiles might be game changing for my exceptional learners.
Learning can be incredibly hard work!
These sensory floor tiles will give my students an opportunity to meet their sensory needs after their work time. I like low tech tools that have a calming effect so they can get back to work in a good frame of mind.
We run centers in this classroom and the letter stamps will allow my students to write more independently and in an engaging, fun way. We have magnatiles but I love the letters on this set so kids will be learning as they play!
