Hands-On Learning Tools for Students with Disabilities

Help me give my students the visuals, manipulatives and sensory friendly tools that will give them the best opportunity to increase language skills in the way they can learn best.

My Project

My caseload of 50 students are children with varying communication disorders due to Articulation and/or Language delays, Autism, Apraxia, Developmental Delays, Cognitive Impairments, ADHD, and Sensory Processing Disorders.

Many children significantly benefit from visuals and manipulatives when learning skills and concepts.

These alphabet tubs, language activity boxes, and other tools will provide more hands-on experience to solidify comprehension and use of new communication, speech and language strategies.

Using these tools, students will work on increasing correct production of sounds in words, following directions, vocabulary, putting sentences together, describing, expressing wants and needs, social skills, answering questions and inferencing among other skills.
