Hands-On Learning Tools for Bilingual Kindergarten Success
Help me give my students dry erase boards, slime fidget toys, and Play-Doh to encourage hands-on learning, improve focus, and foster creativity in my bilingual kindergarten classroom through engaging, interactive activities that support their academic and emotional growth.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my bilingual kindergarten classroom, hands-on learning is key to student success. My young learners thrive when given opportunities to engage their minds and hands simultaneously. That’s why I’m requesting dry erase boards, slime fidget toys, and Play-Doh to enhance our learning environment and support their academic and social-emotional development.
Dry erase boards are vital tools that my students use daily for writing, drawing, and solving math problems.
These boards allow them to practice essential skills in a fun, interactive way while receiving immediate feedback.
Slime fidget toys serve as sensory tools that help my students focus and manage their emotions, especially during times of stress or over-stimulation. They are especially beneficial for young learners who need additional support to stay engaged and on task.
Play-Doh sparks creativity and strengthens fine motor skills, which are crucial for writing and other academic tasks. Whether they’re molding letters, numbers, or imaginative creations, my students are always excited to explore and learn with Play-Doh.
