Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My pre-k four students love to paint and draw! The Copernicus Art Easel and Drying Rack will allow me to have a dedicated space in our classroom to help foster my students' creativity. The Art Easel will allow my students to create their own masterpieces just like the famous artists, such as Georges Seurat whom we learned about during our creativity unit and throughout the year.
Pre-literacy skills are an important part of pre-k learning and the Lakeshore Alphabet Sound Tubs are a fun and hands-on way for my students to learn letter names and letter sounds.
We will be able to use the sound tubs in multiple learning centers throughout the classroom. The Alphabet Sound Tubs will be used during circle time, small group, and incorporated into centers such as the ABC Center and the Writing Center.
I always say that the best part of being a pre-k teacher is that I get to play all day! That's a bit of a generalization, my students learn through play and the Learning Resources Jumbo Animals Sets will allow them to do just that. During our animals units, we learn about different types of animals and their habitats. My students will be able to use the blocks and other manipulatives we already have in the classroom to create animal habitats. The only thing we are currently missing are the animals themselves.
