My Project
My students are eager, curious, and full of energy! They love exploring, experimenting, and discovering new things through play and stories. Many of them come from low-income households and don’t always have access to hands-on learning tools at home. Our classroom is their safe space to learn, imagine, and grow — and I want to make it even more engaging and exciting for them.
This project will bring STEM toys and a big bookholder to our classroom, giving students opportunities to build, create, and dive into stories in new ways.
The STEM toys will provide interactive, screen-free ways for my students to practice problem-solving, engineering, and critical thinking. From building simple machines to exploring magnetism and gears, these toys will support both structured lessons and free exploration time.
The big bookholder will help us keep our oversized storybooks organized, accessible, and in great condition. Right now, our big books are stacked on a shelf where they’re hard to reach and easy to damage. With a dedicated book holder, students will be able to independently choose books, fostering a love for reading and storytelling.
These materials will transform how my students learn and engage. STEM toys will ignite their interest in science and technology, while organized storybooks will encourage independent reading and language development. With your help, our classroom will be a place where curiosity leads the way!
