My Project

Math can be tricky, especially for young learners. This school year, I am putting together math toolkits for my students to give them a variety of tools to use when solving problems. The base 10 blocks, specifically in this project, will support students as they begin to add and subtract larger numbers. These blocks turn abstract numbers into something concrete that students can see and touch. These are also especially helpful when teaching regrouping, as students can see numbers being built and taken apart. The magnetic set will also aid in teaching, as it will give students a large model to work off of and follow.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
