Help me give my students STEM building manipulatives such as LEGOs and baseplates, magnetic building blocks, snowflake building blocks, and star flex creative connecting construction blocks to help promote hands-on learning in Science and Math.
The students at my school come from many different cultures. Their families are migrant workers, farmers, and industrial workers. The school where I will be teaching is a Title I school in SC where more than 90% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Even though these students face challenges at home, they are creative, very eager to learn, and want to succeed in all areas at school.
As a first year teacher, my goal is to have all of my students excited about coming to school and learning with me throughout the year!
My Project
The LEGOs and baseplates, magnetic building blocks, snowflake building blocks, star flex creative connecting construction blocks, and other manipulatives that are set for this project can be useful in many different ways in our classroom. A major benefit of using these manipulatives is to promote science, technology, engineering and math in versatile learning opportunities. Students can learn a variety of skills and gain a more comprehensive understanding of the concepts they are learning in class by playing with the manipulatives. Students will be given the opportunity to use these manipulatives to count, sort, build and explore in science and math time.
STEM in early education allows students to build their imaginations.
These manipulatives will provide my students with the stepping stones to creating their creations within our Science and Math curriculum in our classroom.
