I teach at a Title I school in Kentucky where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. At my school we serve children Pre-K - 8th grade. I am the only preschool teacher in the building and we are continuing to grow with numbers. Our children range from ones with severe disabilities to a typical functioning/developing child ages 3-5. In our district our school is continuing to grow and improve on our end of the year outcomes with testing and end of year exams. My goal is to make the children want to continue learning and enjoy school as the years go by.
As the year goes on the children in my classroom become "my" children, I love them like they are my own.
I enjoy playing games, doing small group activities, and being a big kid again with my little ones. Each day my children are eager to come to school and see what they are going to learn today.
My Project
My district has chosen remote learning. This is hard for preschoolers, even those who are returning. They were excited to learn the one day I had them in the room and I want that excitement to learn still happen from home. Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) has many great resources and extensions I can use that will enhance their learning digitally and through hands-on. Using TPT themes I will have access to a variety of fun exciting activities and my students will be happy to participate using their computers.
I want my students to become "little geniuses!" For this project to become a reality I need, laminating sheets, envelopes to send home, TPT resources (digital and paper) to supply children with laminated activities they can use at home.
With the activities I will be able to purchase, make, send home and send digitally learning resources. It will encourage and give all my students the chance to learn, even if they don't have access to a computer. I am from a small community with many low income families. Giving all my children all the same opportunity is so important to me and this would help. Please help them become actual "little geniuses".
