Hands-on Learning: Four Activities, a Ton of Knowledge

Help me give my students a hands-on learning experience. These materials will be used to help students learn through activities instead of lectures.

My Students

I am teaching general education in a Title I school. We have an amazing community around our school. My third-grade students love to learn and explore. They come into my classroom every day eager and excited!

My students love to explore and explain the mystical world around them.

Since we are a Title I district, many of our students cannot purchase "extra" school materials. Our school can fund basic needs such as pencils, papers, and crayons, but it is limited. I would love to provide more materials to make learning more exciting.

My Project

This year, our district is writing a new curriculum to align with our Arizona science standards. There are many materials we will need that are not covered by our school funds. We will be using thermometers to explore how we get energy from the sun! Paper cups and twine will be used to discover the world of sound. We will use plastic cups, brown pipe cleaners, and pom-poms to help increase our understanding of plants.

All of these materials will deepen my students' knowledge of scientific concepts!

Science lessons will be more engaging, hands-on, and real-world applicable. We are really excited about our new science units and appreciate your support!
