This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
There is never a dull moment in my 4K classroom. I look forward to seeing their smiling faces each day. My school is an early childhood center that has only 3 and 4-year-olds.
My students come to school each day excited to learn new things.
They are a very vibrant, energetic, and hard-working bunch of kids. I am so proud to be their teacher! Though our class is made up of many differences, we are a family and strive to do our best each and every day!
My Project
Teaching 4K is very exciting. Each day is an adventure. You never know what is going to happen!
I have found that most of my students learn best through hands-on activities.
For this reason, I have requested board games, Play-Doh, and pencils to give my students the hands-on activities they desire. Games like Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders and Boggle Jr. will help my students practice counting, color recognition, and an introduction to words as well as give them an opportunity to practice taking turns. My students love Play-Doh! It helps develop their fine motor skills in the hands as well gives them an opportunity to be creative and use their imagination. The pencils I have asked for are specifically designed for small hands. The students will use them when practicing writing their letters and numbers. Please help my students get the materials they need to be successful learners! Thank you for considering my project.
