Hands-On Learning at Home!

My Students

I teach 13 students who are highly impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder. My students are in Third and Fourth grade. Our school is a Title I turn-around school. One hundred percent of students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students' parents struggle to make ends meet and are not able to purchase school supplies for their kids.

My students learn best with hands-on materials.

Distance learning was difficult for my students. Many of them do not have access to materials at home to support their learning. Repetition is key for my students. They learn new concepts with repeated practice.

My Project

The materials from this project will be used to create hands-on work for students during distance learning. My students have Autism and they learn a little differently. The laminating sheets and laminator will be used to make each student a set of work folders to complete at home. I will use the Teachers Pay Teachers Gift Card to print colorful work for students to do while they are away from the classroom.

My students will love doing their work folders at home!

My students will use the dry-erase makers to copy, trace and circle their answers on laminated worksheets. They can practice each day that they are home for distance learning. Using the computer or iPad for distance learning was difficult for my students. The hands-on work that I create using this project will help my students gain new skills. I am really excited about sharing these materials with students and their families.
