Hands-On Language Learning

Help me give my students hands-on learning we are requesting magnetic whiteboards and letters, a third Osmo kit to go with our classroom iPads, and a green screen so we can create student-made educational videos!

My Students

Kindergarten is where learning to read all begins! We get to learn all about phonics, phonemic awareness, and spelling. My class finds that hands-on manipulatives are the most engaging and fun way to learn new concepts and apply our skills.

My Project

COVID-19 has effected students in a variety of ways, but their language skills have been effected the most. Students are needing more practice with reading, building, manipulating, and creating words using phonetic spelling in order to achieve the skills required to advance their reading.

Confidence is key to learning and acquiring language skills, a Green Screen gives students a chance to use their communication skills in a creative way.

Unfortunately, because of COVID-19, my students have had limited experience being in social settings to develop and utilize effective communication skills.
