Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are creative thinkers who love collaboration. In fact, collaboration is one of our school"s character traits that we model. As we all know, school now does not look like school before the pandemic. There were significant set backs in our nation's distance learning model. Last year's baby step back to normalcy taught me that what the students need is each other and more hands on learning to fill in the gaps left from the pandemic. Centers are one way to bridge that gap. They allow for collaboration and independence depending on what math station the students are at. It also allows for me to work one on one with those who need the extra help, without taking valuable minutes of learning for those who are on track or ahead of the game.
The manipulatives purchased, such as the task quiz cards and power pens, will be for these centers specifically.
