My Project
Students learn best through hands-on learning opportunities and application. Our school garden helps promote application of research in a way that shows students they can have a positive impact on their world. If the fall, CRE students grow plants to show how they can grow their own nutritious food. This spring, this new project has the potential to show students that they can grow plants to support pollinators such as bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies. Through this project, students will research to understand why pollinators are important and what they can do to make a positive difference in the world.
It is important that we empower students to know that they have the ability to make a difference in this world and give them opportunities to make positive change!
This project will allow for children to practice research using reliable resources. After research, they will apply what they have learned to help prepare, plant, and maintain our school garden. They will see how their efforts bring in pollinators and feed them to help them sustain life. They will also learn, through children's literature, how pollinators help human life.
Many of our amazing students have been able to witness how our fall seeds turned into nutritious food. They are very interested and excited to see the growth. They will be elated to see how our spring garden will grow and to witness the difference they make for pollinators and our Earth!
