Hello! I am a Kindergarten teacher who has been dreaming of a light table, art center, and hands-on reading resources for my Kindergarteners all year! My students are so special to me. They see the world with big, bright eyes full of wonder and have minds that soak up every nourishing piece of knowledge I share with them.
I want to give my students the most amazing, play-based Kindergarten foundation possible!
I plan to use the light table and accessories in my science center to build math, STEM, and literacy skills through visually appealing, play-based activities. I also would like to use the colorful clock with minutes and hours on my math wall to teach time to my young students; it's not easy to explain an analog clock with no minutes labeled (only marks) to tell time. I also would love to have a painting center where students can be creative and develop their motor skills.
Teaching my students to read is one of my greatest roles, and I plan to use the stand-up whiteboard during small group instruction to model correct letter formation, word spellings and sounds, and to teach writing. The Hands-On Reading Game will be used during small-group instruction as well to provide a game-like approach to word building. Last, the Montessori Grammar Shapes will be used to give a visual/tactile understanding of the words that make up a sentence. Thank you so much!
