Help me give my students hands-on environmental experience with animals and their habitats. The Land Hermit Crab Habitat will allow students to see the crab in his natural habit and never have to leave our classroom!
This project expired on March 27, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I have a classroom full of second graders who are full of energy and eager to learn, but have a hard time staying focused and engaged! My students are from a rural community, and some are below grade level. Most do not have much, but they are appreciative of what they do have! Most families are working families and do not have the time to give them the experiences they need to connect with standards. These projects will provide them with experiences they are lacking.
Many of my students had never been to the zoo, let along the beach! When I took my students to the zoo their excitement for animals was contagious! These hands-on habitats will allow them to experience these habitats without ever having to step foot on a beach or a pond!
I have a classroom full of boys and girls who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty they will love observing and caring for these critters!
They are responsible and eager to learn new environmental concepts. I know these crabs, ladybugs, and tadpoles will be a big hit in my second-grade classroom!
