This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, our school is offering AP Environmental Science (APES) for the first time in several years, and I want my students to experience the subject the way it’s meant to be learned, which is through hands-on investigation. With your help, we’ll dive into real-world environmental issues using lab kits that allow students to test for mercury contamination, analyze invasive species, explore photosynthesis and cellular respiration, estimate wildlife populations, investigate soil nutrients, simulate acid rain, purify dirty water, and model ocean acidification. These labs will turn complex environmental concepts into memorable, tangible experiences, helping my students become informed problem solvers and future stewards of our planet.
