My Students

I am a part of opening a brand new elementary school this fall. I have yet to meet my students, but I am eager to get to know them soon!

Since our school is brand new, I am learning about the different needs of each of my students from scratch.

I have a lot of students coming into school for the very first time this year, as I will be teaching kindergarten. Although they are new to the school system, I am sure that they are eager to come each day and learn new things!

My Project

These materials will allow students to be more engaged in their learning. By giving students a variety of different materials to explore they are working on their fine motor skills. It is also a fun way for them to practice building numbers, letters, and words in different ways.

Allowing students to explore and use their hands to deepen their understanding of different concepts is crucial in developing a love for learning.

When children are allowed to play as a part of their learning, powerful things happen. The use of play doh to shape different letters is fun and engaging. Having sand to use in a sensory bin helps students to be able to use their hands and build their fine motor skills.

It is crucial to help students develop a love for learning early on in their education. By having hands-on exploration in my classroom I expect that my students will feel confident in what they are learning and want to continue to explore, learn, and play. All of these materials can be used over and over again. I set high expectations for my students so that they know and want to take care of the things in our classroom so that they can be used repeatedly.
