This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are full of energy and curiosity! They are five and six year olds who come to school excited to learn. I try to make learning fun and engaging as they learn through play. For some of my students kindergarten is their first school experience which means that they come with different skills and abilities.

I believe that every child can learn at their own developmental pace.

My goal as their teacher is to provide engaging and challenging learning experiences in a positive and safe environment.

My Project

I'm requesting a circle time learning center that will allow my students to practice calendar concepts, the alphabet, counting, shapes, rhyming words, colors, and more. We will use this chart during our morning meeting, they will take turns to change the date, pick the weather, rhyme words, count, identify the color and shape of the day.

Hands-on exploration is what my students need with fun-to-touch tactile letter cards, a “gumball machine” with counters, a weather spinner with stick-on clothing pieces, and more!

I'm also requesting a chart holder that will hold the circle time learning center. It will be easy to set up anywhere in the classroom.

They will have daily practice and have so much fun learning! Hands-on activities is the best way to learn.
