This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students at my school are curious, intuitive and engaged in taking ownership of their learning. Many of my students come from low income backgrounds, and my Drama Class is their first introduction to live theater.
My students are passionate about learning about drama.
Theatrical makeup is an exciting topic which requires special supplies. My students have a clear desire to educate themselves more about Theatrical makeup and use it in their performances.
Learning about theatrical makeup will give students a chance to collaborate, be creative and gain new skills.
My Project
This project will provide the resources for hands-on makeup classes in my performing arts classroom and theater productions. The drama course brings students out of their shell, builds confidence and teaches important life skills such as public-speaking, teamwork, leadership and discipline.
The Theatrical Makeup on my wish list would allow the students to receive a professional experience so that they could pursue careers in this field.
All of these things help create a better experience for students participating in theater arts performances and classes.
