Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My Kindergarten students are very excitable. We spend our days learning to read, write, and count, but also how to love, respect and share. We work on ELA, math, science and social studies daily. We are going to master reading!

They love to learn and can make an adventure of mostly anything!

We cherish our memorable moments, such as the hands-on experiences and edible experiments. I am not afraid to laugh or be laughed at and this connection of laughter keeps us close.

We are in an area that needs a lot of attention. The children need the attention, the love and the opportunity to succeed in the most imaginable way ever!

My Project

I asked my class how can we make our every day learning more engaging. Most of their answers included color, fun and hands on experiences.

One of my students said, "I want to make it." Play dough will allow my students to create the letters and numbers that they are familiarizing themselves with and so much more!

My class will greatly benefit from having their personal tub of play dough to use throughout the school year to help relate the material to their pace of underatanding. I see the tubs being used in math, ELA and science. The contribution to the class will last all class year. But the memory of hands-on learning will last them forever!
