Hands-on Experiences Combined with Books Opens a World of Learning

Help me give my students hand-on learning with a tactile sand lowercase and uppercase alphabet. Reading books opens up my students' world. They travel places they never would while developing a love of reading.

My Project

My students have developed a love of learning in our classroom community. They thrive with books, books we can read on the carpet together or during their personal reading time. Books open up their world around them. They have the desire to have books of people in our community. These books will allow them to explore various occupations and guide them as they participate in dramatic play. We read and explore stories with values, which are so important in building social skills and bettering our world around us.

Hands-on tools for learning through play in our reading centers will help my students to build upon phonemic awareness and phonological awareness in their reading skills.

Using the magnetic phonics tiles and sandpaper letters, they will build upon skills taught to them allowing them to embed them deeper in their learning.
