Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Over the year our marker collection has dwindled: swept up in a dust pan, dried out, lost. Please help us replenish our collection of great markers!
In our 11th grade English class students dive into complicated classic and contemporary literature through group work and hands-on projects.
Students create posters, visualize characters, highlight complicated texts, color-code paragraphs and design projects.
Examples of projects:
A map project where students create the setting of The Great Gatsby and analyze setting as social commentary
A color-coded evidence based claim (each part gets a new color!) This helps students memorize the structure
A "body biography"-- a visual and written portrait of a character in a work of literature.
