This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These literacy group materials will give me more make an impact on my students to help them learn to read. I have many kids who struggle with reading and having hands on materials will help to motivate my students.

I will be able to more effectively differentiate each small group based upon students and their reading deficiencies.

First grade is the foundational building block for reading. Studies show 54% of American adults do not have appropriate reading skills. Many of my students do not have the opportunity to afford tutors and additional supports. With this in mind, I want to provide the most effective reading materials so I can meet my students' needs!
