My Students

Living in a poverty stricken inner city school district, the majority of my 9th grade students have encountered hardships that most adults have not had to bare witness to even in their adult age. Nonetheless, through all the adversities my vibrant scientists (integrated science students) remain fearless survivors who continuously give their all... day in and day out in the classroom.

For their constant courageousness, they deserve to have equity and accessibility to learning resources that will enable them to have successful future.

My Project

These supplies will help student apply scientific reasoning and evidence from ancient Earth materials, meteorites, and other planetary surfaces to construct an account of Earth’s formation and early history.

The fossil kit will enable students to perform a number of different investigations involving principles of stratigraphic correlation and the analysis of geologic history.

While the density planet lab will allow students use standard laboratory equipment to obtain mass and volume data for objects representing material from the planets in our solar system. Using this data, they calculate the densities of the materials, compare to the estimated planetary densities, and determine which substances come closest to matching the planetary values.
