Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a K-8, charter school in an urban area.
Our students are diverse and they all strive to be "civic-minded leaders, accomplished writers, and resilient lifelong learners." Becoming accomplished writers means that students must have access to writing tools while learning from home.
Being resilient lifelong learners will begin at home this school year as students will begin the school year in Distance Learning.
My Project
Learning from home in Distance Learning can also be a hands-on experience for Kindergarten students! By having materials such as white boards and expo markers, letter tiles, and a primary writing journal, Kindergarten students will learn how to read and write by practicing building, reading, and writing words. Martian/Witch finger toppers make learning to read fun and engaging.
Having access to unifix cubes building numbers will help students develop counting and number sense skills.
With these important supplies at home, students will be able to develop basic reading and writing skills by manipulating items at home while working online with their classmates and teachers.
