Help me give my students a VersaTiles Math Classroom set for a year-long (!) math center that will allow them to work independently or in partners, then check their answers through a game/puzzle-like design.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
I consider myself so honored to be working with a group of twenty first-graders who are enthusiastic about learning . . . along with Minecraft, Paw Patrol, and Frozen! I have students with a wide range of interests and abilities, and meeting their unique needs is one of my greatest passions and joys.
I don't think I will ever get over the delight that students get from learning something new, and the magic that comes with that proverbial "lightbulb".
That's what makes my job so enjoyable!
Many of my students are hands-on learners, and in order to make things click they really need to be able to "see and do", especially in math. Knowing that my students needs this hands-on practice, I have tried to challenge and improve my teaching by modeling with math manipulatives (think beans, linking cubes, and counters) and making those manipulatives readily available to my students.
One of the greatest setbacks in math practice is completing an independent activity full of math problems, then having no idea if you got them correct. When students race through a page of math problems and finish quickly but incorrectly, have they really achieved anything?
This VersaTiles kit offers math practice in every area of first grade math, but gives students the capability of checking their answers after they have completed the math problems, using a cool, colorful design that students will want to try to re-create by completing the math problems correctly.
This set is perfect for review or practice of new concepts.
The students will be empowered and rewarded for checking their answers and achieving accuracy in math.
