Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In a world where screens dominate our students’ attention, the joy of hands-on creativity is fading.
My students rarely get the chance to work with their hands, design something unique, or express themselves through art, and I want to change that.
This project will provide a variety of bracelet-making kits, beads, and jewelry-making tools to inspire creativity, build fine motor skills, and encourage collaboration.
Through friendship bracelets, keychains, and handcrafted jewelry, students will engage in problem-solving, pattern recognition, and self-expression while working together in a screen-free environment. Beyond just crafting, this project will foster teamwork, patience, and a sense of accomplishment as students design and create their own wearable art. It’s time to bring back the joy of tactile learning and meaningful human connections—one bead at a time. You will also be providing snacks and juices for those in my group, so that they don’t have to worry about bringing food.
