My Project
These materials will give my students an opportunity to touch and feel the parts of the story while they participate in re-telling stories. All of my students have speech and/or language disorders which can make learning difficult. Allowing them to have hands-on materials and visuals (puppets, felt pieces) help them experience the learning in multiple ways. Because my students need visuals and manipulatives to learn I am constantly making adapted materials, at their learning level, for them to touch and engage with. Laminating paper and rings are essential for creating durable pieces for my students.
My kids love to earn time to engage in play!
My students work so hard all day in school and are highly motivated by opportunities to play games and get creative. Magna-Tiles and board games (Hungry Hippo and Pete the Cat) are great ways to inspire them to continue to work their hardest. I am also able to incorporate them into therapy for language lessons and turn-taking opportunities.
